How To Succeed At The Highest Levels

To succeed at the highest levels, we MUST reach our peak performance…

We have to be proactive… not reactive or passive.

Nothing comes to us…

If we want it, we have to GO GET IT!

Just in the last 12 hours of producing this, I watched & witnessed my favorite soccer club Liverpool do the seemingly impossible by beating the undefeated league leaders Manchester City by a scoreline of 4-3.

Truth be told… this took most by surprise…

Why did all other 18 teams in the English Premier League fail where Liverpool succeeded?

Aside from a multitude & confluence of factors, quite plainly it’s because they attacked and went on the offensive relentlessly & throughout the game!

They did not sit back to play defense like all other teams and allow the league leaders to have free space to dominate, attack & do their thing

What To Focus On

Winners and successful people tend to carry a different spirit, mindset & outlook in life

This really struck me each time I speak with people who struggle financially

Almost in every case they would not be focused on income generation and would instead be talking about cutting down on expenses, increasing their savings and preparing for rainy days or building their emergency funds

I would then usually ask this question…

Do you think it’s easier for you to save an extra $2000 a month or to make an extra $2000?

This is when the magical light bulb comes on for many!

It’s also no surprise that those struggling financially have only 1 source of income while financially successful people have multiple and parallel streams of income and they are always happy to add more to it

For the record, the most number of income streams I know someone has is between 50 and 55…

Just imagine that!

As I learnt from my mentor, the financial system is structured in such a way that every year X number of people would go bankrupt

Going on the offense would prevent that

Principle Illustrated

In soccer, the strikers or goalscorers are the HIGHEST paid… not defenders

In basketball, it’s usually the forwards…

For organizations, the hungriest sales people are generally the ones who make the most.

Between a CEO and a CFO, no prizes for guessing who gets remunerated more

Before I get misunderstood that defense isn’t important, I just want to clarify & emphasize that offense is what you SHOULD be focusing on!

As I end this episode, let me share something powerful from Marianne Williamson…

I do this because many remain in defense out of fear.

She says…

Our presence automatically liberates others.”

This truth is absolutely beautiful, isn’t it?
